Farizma Ali

Farizma Ali is an Associate Attorney at Erlich Law Office, where she practices family law. Admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2024, Farizma began working in family law in 2022 as a law clerk, which gave her a strong foundation in case management, legal procedure, and client service. As an attorney, she represents clients in divorce, parentage, and post-decree matters, handling hearings, settlement conferences, and evidentiary hearings, while drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements. She is committed to thoughtful, client-centered representation, guiding clients through challenging periods with compassion, integrity, and dignity.

Farizma earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2023 and her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology and a Certificate in Criminology, from Northern Illinois University. During law school, she served as Vice President of the South Asian Law Student Association and Director of Outreach for the Muslim Law Society. She also externed for the Honorable Mark J. Lopez in the Cook County Circuit Court’s Domestic Relations Division, where she developed her interest in family law. In addition, she researched crime-free housing ordinances through the Fair Housing Legal Support Center and facilitated peace circles for middle school students through the Restorative Justice Project.

Farizma is fluent in Bengali and conversational in Hindi and Urdu. Outside of her legal practice, she is an avid foodie who enjoys exploring restaurants, speakeasies, and cafés, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to experience new places, history, and cultures.
